We’ll also compare a few aspects of standard membership with golden membership.

Note: Generally you actually get paid more click commission from Rented Referrals, but bear in mind you have to pay for these rentals, whereas direct referrals typically cost you nothing.
There’s a couple of advantages to direct referrals. The main one is you don’t have to pay a “rental fee” for direct referrals, or any associated AutoPay/AutoRenew fees. You will also get 20% of any NeoCoins and 12% of any Mini Jobs your direct referrals complete. You do not get any such referral commissions through rented referrals.

Renting Referrals and Direct Referral Costs and Limits
The cost to rent referrals is the same for all memberships, as is AutoPay.

However, there is a strict limitation on the number of rented referrals you can have as a standard member. The below table shows these limitations for all levels:

There is also a limitation on the number of direct referrals you can have as a standard member. in fact you cannot have any direct referrals at all until you meet the following two prerequisites:
- You have clicked on at least 100 ads yourself
- You have been a standard member for at least 15 days
After you have met this criteria you are allowed 30 direct referrals. This limit increases by 1 each 4 days past 30 days for which you are a member. So for example, if you were a standard member for 102 days, you would be able to have 30 direct referrals plus (102-30)/4 = 18 – which gives a total direct referral limit of 48.
Bear in mind you can remove direct referrals who aren’t clicking enough ads, or have quit to make room for new ones. Out of interest, the limit for golden members is 200 instead of 30, plus you would divide days-30 by 2 instead of 4. So after 102 days as a golden member your limit would be 200 plus (102-30)/2 = 36 – which gives a golden limit of 236 opposed to 48 as a standard member.
How Much Can I make as a Standard Member
That depends on a number of factors – how well you manage your rented referrals, how many direct referrals you have, how many times your referrals click, complete mini jobs etc. I have put together a “theoretical” table below using different kinds of variables to give you an indication of what kind of profit is possible as a standard member.

Upgrading to Golden Membership
As a standard member, to make more money with Neobux, you should have in mind at some point to upgrade to Golden membership. There are a couple of prerequisites that have to be met before you upgrade:
- You need to have clicked on a total of at least 50 ads
- You have to be a Neobux standard member for at least 15 days
Upgrading to Golden membership costs $90 per year. The main benefit of upgrading to Golden, is that your earn more from your referrals – both direct and rented. This is particularly important in terms of rented referrals, as your break even cost is dramatically lowered. Here’s a quick comparison between standard and golden membership click revenue:
